Legal Insurance

Legal Insurance

Overview

You're more likely to need legal services than to be hospitalized. Yet, while most people have medical insurance, they have no safety net to handle legal events in their life. With MetLife Legal Plans, you can obtain services from attorneys in much the same way as you do from the doctors who participate in your medical plan.

MetLife Legal Plans provides access to a nationwide network of 19,000+ attorneys for help with a wide range of legal matters, such as:

  • Wills and Estate Planning
  • Family Law (Name Change, Adoption)
  • Consumer Protection (Consumer Fraud)
  • Juvenile Court Matters (Includes Criminal Matters)
  • Debt-Related Matters (Bankruptcy, Tax Audits)
  • Home and Real Estate Matters (Purchase or Sale of a Home, Security Deposits)
  • And more!

Service through MetLife Legal Plans also means no deductibles, copays, claim forms, or waiting periods. You can start as soon as you enroll. Additionally, the plan’s Digital Estate Planning Solution allows you to complete wills and powers of attorney online in as little as 15 minutes.

As a new hire, you can enroll within 30 days of your benefits eligible date. Outside of your new hire enrollment period, enrollment is limited to the company's annual enrollment period. $17.80 per month, via payroll deduction, covers you, your spouse/domestic partner and dependents.
